Dr. Mehta

Dr. Sachin Mehta graduated summa cum laude from The Ohio State University in 2000 with a degree in Microbiology. He went on to earn his medical degree with honors from Case Western Reserve University in 2004. After completing his medical internship in Columbus, he pursued ophthalmology residency training at Washington University in St. Louis, consistently recognized as one of the nation’s premier ophthalmology programs.

Dr. Mehta then completed a two‑year vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Vanderbilt University, where he was awarded the prestigious J. Donald M. Gass Fellowship Award. 

A respected clinician, surgeon, and educator, Dr. Mehta has authored numerous peer‑reviewed articles and book chapters on age‑related macular degeneration, diabetic macular edema, retinal tears and detachments, and endophthalmitis. His surgical interests include macular hole and macular pucker repair, proliferative diabetic retinopathy, complex retinal detachment repair, and scleral fixation of posteriorly dislocated intraocular lens implants.

Dr. Mehta has presented at local and national ophthalmology meetings and is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a Fellow of both the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists. He is a past President of the Phoenix Ophthalmological Society and currently serves as an executive board member of the Arizona Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons. He was recently awarded the Phoenix Magazine “Top Doctor” award in Vitreoretinal Medicine and Surgery by his colleagues.

Dr. Goldenberg

Dr. Goldenberg graduated summa cum laude from UCLA with a degree in Biology. He then earned his medical degree from the UCLA School of Medicine where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his Internal Medicine training at St. Mary’s Medical Center in San Francisco, followed by an Ophthalmology residency at the prestigious UCLA Jules Stein Eye Institute.

He went on to complete a two‑year vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Associated Retinal Consultants at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan, one of the nation’s leading retina training programs.

Dr. Goldenberg has authored multiple peer‑reviewed articles and book chapters and has lectured at numerous local and national ophthalmology meetings. His clinical and surgical interests include macular degeneration, macular hole and macular pucker repair, retinal detachment surgery, and the management of diabetic‑related retinal disease.

Throughout his career, Dr. Goldenberg has received numerous honors and awards recognizing his contributions to patient care, research, and education. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists. He is a past-President of the Phoenix Ophthalmological Society and former executive board member of the Arizona Ophthalmological Society. He is a five-time recipient of “Top Doctor” by his peers in Phoenix Magazine annual nomination and ratings program.
